Meeting agenda:
Presentation - Matthew Musgrave will be presenting information about a
new 'network appliance' he has been experimenting with for network security. A
planned visit from the vendor will be scheduled soon.
Charter - Jeff Budge Lester Godsey, Jim Howard and Matthew Musgrave are
to present the initial drafts of the charter and start a discussion to get it
ratified.
Best practices - We need to define groups to create the best practices
for each platform. Work on assigning the groups and platforms.
Highlights:
 | SANS has information on best practices, but rather than worry about
copyrights, we will use a document that Brent Dunlock started a couple of
years ago as a platform. |
| There will be a demonstration next meeting on a Nokia firewall by Network
Appliance. Matthew Musgrave currently has a demo running in his
office, Golwater 164. Contact Matthew for more info. |

Issues to address, action items:
| Post current best practices and develop on-line submission for OS specific
best practices. |
Next meeting
| Presentation - Firewall presentation by Network Catalyst, 20 to 30 minute
presentation on the system and answer questions from the group. It will be
geared towards IT professionals. |
