January 23, 2001 Attendees: Mathew Musgrave, Jim Howard, Joan Bahamonde, Rod Heyd, Nina Barr, James Vasfaret, Lester Godsey, Lois Lehman, Kirt Karl, Scott Hancock, David Bear, Rick Batchelor, Stephanie Hoyt Item 1: Official announcement of Joan Bahamonde as UNUG co-chair The assembled UNUG membership confirmed Joan as the UNUG co-chair. Item 2: Discussion of UNUG Security Incident Reporting and IT ARS Incident Reporting The membership discussed IT's ARS reporting system for tracking security incidents and the possibility of creating a utility of our own, that could be used by everyone. Nina Barr volunteered to work on the web interface. Item 3: Discussion of UNUG Root Toolkit CD's The idea of a root tool kit ran into licensing and other questions and will be raised at another time. Item 4: Discussion on network scanning Matt asked for volunteers, who would be willing to scan other group members systems. Questions arose about the legalities involved and violation of the acceptable use policy. |
