Mission

University Student Initiatives is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and to assisting them in their academic success. All departments and staff within University Student Initiatives are available to assist prospective and current students throughout their ASU experience.

ASU is creating the New American University, an institution of the highest academic quality and one that is accessible to all students. University Student Initiatives supports this vision through all of its efforts.  

Jim Rund is Senior Vice President for University Student Initiatives. Dr. Rund has a B.A. from Moorhead State University, an M.S. from North Dakota State University, and an Ed.D. in higher and adult education from ASU. His experience includes leadership roles in residential life, student development, and student affairs at ASU and the University of South Dakota.
