The policy seminar drew participants from Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, and New Mexico.

            State Representative Rick Miera (NM) discusses policy changes in teacher preparation with fellows Janelle Taylor-Garcia, and Elizabeth Gutierrez (new fellows at UC Riverside) . 

                  State Senator Joe Eddie Lopez (AZ) provided a background of proposed legislation on bilingual education in Arizona.  He elaborated on this discussion with California school board member, Mario Chiappe and Lucia Rodriguez (HBLI Associate Director).
