Who made the salads? z and s mixed

In these words, you'll find both [s] and [z]. Be careful not to mix them up. Remember the spelling cues: a double s between vowels, or s at the beginning, end, or next to a consonant signals the [s] sound, while a single s between vowels signals the [z] sound. Note also that ti before a vowel letter signals the [sj] sounds.
