The structure of AINE is comprised of a number of focus centers connected to form a hierarchical intellectual structure spanning from atomic scale materials to architectures and systems at the macroscale. The centers are comprised of faculty expertise focused in the areas of nanomaterials, nanomagnetics, nanobioelectronics, nanophotonics, nanoelectronic devices, molecular electronics, computational nanoelectronics, and nanoelectronic information processing. While this focus is on the electronics side, it is important to note that strong ties to the BioDesign Institute will better enable technology transfer in both directions.
