Sixth edition of Plat's popular work on gardening in Great Britain. 2 small vols. Numbered alphabetically. The reader of this work will "not only advance their knowledge and observation when they walk into a Garden, but discourse more skilfully of any Flower Plant or Fruit than the Gardiner himself." The work makes good use of marginal notes to guide the reader through the various subjects. There is also an alphabetical table at the beginning, listing all subjects covered. Each volume has its own alphabetical subject table. Volume two contains descriptions of a number of experiments designed to improve plant production. For example, the author describes how to get a second crop of artichokes as well as how to bring fruit into any shape or to grow within molds.
Subjects: Gardening; Fruit culture.
