This was the first book by Dodoens printed by Christopher Plantin, and features many beautiful woodcuts by Pieter van der Borcht. It is the second book by Dodoens printed by Plantin, and includes two indexes, one for plant names in Latin and one for the Greek names. The plant descriptions give details about the plant, including histories, and also lists the common plant name in other languages, such as Greek, German, Belgian, Italian, and French.
