Colonna, an epileptic, searched the literature and found valeria as an antispasmadic for seizures.
This is the second edition of Colonna's Phytobasanos, published posthumously including beautiful intaglio metal plates. It contains a biography of Colonna and some fine etching by the author inserted at the end. The work covers alimited number of marine life, such as sting rays and starfish.
