Press Release:
ECURE 2006 Call For Proposals and 2005 Keynotes Released

August 2005

Presentation and session proposals for ECURE 2006: Preservation and Access for Digital College and University Resources are now being solicited by officials at Arizona State University. The ECURE 2006 program will focus on the topic of biomedical information, the infrastructure required to collect, sustain and make available associated research data and administrative records, and the policy and regulatory environments that drive this activity at the institutional and at the national level.

Presentation proposals associated with biomedical data and related knowledge management systems, and more generally with electronic records, institutional repository and digital asset management issues are welcomed.

Streaming video and transcripts of ECURE 2005 keynote addresses are now available at the ECURE archives. Clifford Lynch, Executive Director of the Coalition for Networked Information and Sarah Pritchard, University Librarian at the University of California, Santa Barbara offered provocative commentary on the current status and uncertain fate of faculty research data and products. For more information about these presentations see “Data Flood Swamps Faculty Researchers."

ECURE 2006 will convene February 27-March 1, 2006 at the beautiful Arizona State University at Tempe campus in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Program information and registration materials will become available late this fall.
