This is a nod to Helen Tibbo, who always incorporates this first thought for the day into her presentations about the project – and since it is our founding premise and the basis for the project's final deliverables, I include it here as well.

Your second thought for the day is one of my favorite quotes that I like to relate to the world of information management. If we cannot adapt to change (and rapid change at that) it's possible that all this important information in electronic format that we're so concerned about preserving will truly go the way of the delete key – either that or it will just languish in someone's on-, off-, or near-line storage system.
