Moving into the authenticity area, we asked this question about attachments in an attempt to discover whether or not people saw the importance of preserving the relationship between the email and the attachment. As you can imagine, answers were not simple yes or no to this one, so coding was difficult. Typical responses were "sometimes," "it depends on how I'm going to use the attachment," or "it depends on the content of the attachment." Still, 89% of the people who responded to this question indicated that they saved email attachments outside of their email program.
