In order to develop our set of interview questions, we went back to the original goals for the project, which were to understand how individuals manage their digital desktops, both email messages and other digital files, and to improve user behavior by devising guidelines and learning models. We knew we had to first find out what people are actually doing with their email and other digital files, and then we had to think about how we could improve what they're doing both for their own work and for the University.
