3D Design (ART 115)
(This is a sample list. Your instructor may require
different materials)
Materials and Tools
- Metal straight edge (18-24")
- Tape measure
- #11 Ex-acto knife and extra blades
- Utility knife (box cutter or matt
knife with extra blades)
- Graphite pencils (2B and 4H minimum)
- Pencil sharpener
- Erasers (white plastic, hard pink)
- 1 technical ink pen--sizes .25 -
.5 will do. Disposable pens are fine.
- Masking tape
- Protractor with degrees
- Three ring notebook with 8 1/2 x 11" "biology"
paper for notes, thumbnail sketches, collages.
- Eye protection (hi impact plastic
googles)
- Ear protection (foam ear plugs)
- Dust protection (personal dust mask)
- Tackle box (to carry your supplies)
Other as needed for projects:
- Glue gun (1/2" diameter)
- Small diameter hi-speed twist drills
(1/16"-1/8")
- Assorted hand tools (pliers for
bending wire, plaster carving tools, etc.)
- Assorted paints
- Assorted brushes
- Small plastic bucket (for plaster
mixing)
Materials Provided by Lab Fee
- Corrugated cardboard
- Styrene plastic
- Stryofoam
- Waterbased clay
- Wire
- Replacement blades and belts for power tools
- White glue
- Glue sticks
- Various fasteners (nails, bolts, pop-rivets)
- Casting plaster
