Ismael
Diaz, a prominent and wealthy Boston lawyer, is on death row in
a Texas prison, writing his memoirs and pursuing a course of physical
and spiritual development called "the way of the jaguar."
In his reminiscences, he takes us back to day in Boston when an
impulsive and seemingly harmless actstamping out a neighbor's
spring cleaning firestarts him on the road toward the loss
of his career and marriage, the search for a lost love in his hometown
of El Paso, and murder.
Rudolfo
Anaya chose The Way of the Jaguar
as second place winner in the Chicano/Latino Literary Contest:
"Wonderfully contrived and executed, the narrative reveals
Ismaels' path with engrossing intensity...."
