INROADS

The Multicultural Student Center has a collaborative partnership with INROADS/Arizona, Inc. INROADS is a national not-for-profit career development organization whose mission is to develop and place talented minority youth in business and industry and prepare them for corporate and community leadership. Through the Multicultural Student Center, INROADS recruits ethnic minority college students for paid summer internships with Fortune 500 companies. In particular, INROADS offers the following benefits to students:

  • Paid summer internships for up to four years during college
  • Leadership Development Training Workshops
  • Monthly professional and academic support, including paid tutors
  • Experiences and opportunities which will equip students with the necessary skills to advance
  • An opportunity to network with future corporate "movers and shakers"
  • A personal career agent who supports you throughout the process

To qualify for the many benefits of INROADS, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 2.8 grade point average
  • Enrollment in a four year college or university
  • Have a minimum of two summers left before college graduation (freshmen / sophomore or rising junior)
  • Interest in working with Corporate America

Companies recruit INROADS interns to work primarily in the fields of Engineering, Computer Science and Business. The Engineering and Computer Science internships are limited to students majoring in the following degree programs: Computer Science, Statistics/Math, Computer Systems, Electrical, Chemical, Construction, and Civil Engineering. However, students majoring in Finance, Marketing, Accounting or any of the Social Sciences (Liberal Arts, Public Programs, Education, etc.), can enter the Business Management internship program.
