Jessica McCann's debut historical novel, All Different Kinds of Free, was awarded the 2009 Freedom in Fiction Prize and published in 2011. As a novel-in-progress, the work also was a semi-finalist in the 2005 William Faulkner-William Wisdom Creative Writing competition. Her award-winning short story "Night Window" was published in River Styx literary magazine. McCann has worked as journalist, editor and communications professional for more than 20 years. She has been a full-time freelance writer since 1998. Her award-winning nonfiction work has been published in dozens of magazines, including Business Week, The Writer, Phoenix and ASU Research.
