Christine Szuter is director of ASU’s Scholarly Publishing Certificate program. She is on the faculty of public history in the School of Historical, Philosophical, and Religious Studies. She served as director of the University of Arizona Press for ten years before coming to Arizona State University in 2009. She entered the field of university press publishing as an acquisition editor in social and environmental sciences and soon thereafter became editor-in-chief. She received her PhD in anthropology from the University of Arizona, specializing in Southwest archaeology and zooarchaeology. She is on the board of the Western National Park Association (WNPA), a member of the Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society Publications Committee, and editorial advisor for the Society for American Archaeology (SAA) Press. She has served as a member of the American Association of University Presses board of directors, as chair of the SAA Publications Committee and WNPA board, and on the advisory committee for the University of Arizona Digital Information Management (DigIn) Certificate.
