In his role as President of SPAN, Ian directs all of the activities of the organization. Currently, Ian is a Performance Auditor with the Arizona Office of the Auditor General where he works as part of an audit team to determine whether state agencies are achieving their objectives established by the Legislature and managing their resources in an effective, economical, and efficient manner. Prior to joining the Office of the Auditor General, Ian was a Sponsored Projects Specialist in the Office for Research and Sponsored Projects Administration at Arizona State where he assisted university faculty in proposal development and award administration.
Ian also serves as an editorial board member for Perspectives in Public Affairs, the School’s scholarly journal.
Ian is in his final year of the Master of Public Policy program. He has a Master of Public Administration degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Arizona State University. Ian is originally from Ankeny, Iowa, but has lived in the Phoenix-area since 1997.
