The ASU Libraries offer open instruction sessions covering library research skills and strategies, in addition to sessions covering RefWorks, the citation management software. Consult the schedule below to find the just the right workshop for your needs. |
We also offer sessions for tailored for specific courses in conjunction with an expert librarian. To request an in-class instruction session, please contact your subject/liasion librarian or fill out an online request form (Writing Programs request form) and we'll find the right librarian for you. |
We offer a variety of workshops on all four campuses. All ASU students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend any workshop that meets their need. Please consult the workshop descriptions for more details about the sessions.

An insightful introduction to the library’s many services—you’ll be amazed what you can do and how easy it can be to find information for your courses and your papers.

RefWorks, a web based citation management program, can change the way you do your research. It can save you lots of time and headaches by keeping track of sources you use for research, including articles, books, web pages, etc. But best of all it creates bibliographies for you automatically, in whatever style you need! Come to our one hour session to learn how to set up a RefWorks account, how to get article information from the ASU Libraries catalog and article indexes.
As part of RefWorks , Write-N-Cite is a plug-in that allows you to cite references in a Word document with the click of a button. It also will automatically generate a biliography/works cited list. The Advanced RefWorks Session will teach you how to use Write-N-Cite to:
• insert citations directly from your RefWorks account into your paper.
• create the bibliography based on the inserted citations and add it to the end of your paper.Come learn how to use Write-n-Cite: it will make your writing less painful!

This hands-on workshop will show participants how to create, store and manage your own personal citations using RefWorks, a user-friendly bibliographic management database available through The ASU Libraries. These citations can then be easily inserted in papers or publications, and are automatically added to bibliographies in your citation style of choice.
