BENEFITS: AIG Retirement to become VALIC
Beginning May 1, AIG Retirement will become VALIC. The rebranding goes along with AIG’s move to position its businesses as more independently run companies. During the transition, employees may see company communications under both names.
The Variable Annuity Insurance Company (VALIC) is currently the legal name of the company. VALIC will be the marketing name for company and its subsidiaries, VALIC Financial Advisors, Inc. and VALIC Retirement Services Co.
The Variable Annuity Life Insurance Co. was founded in 1955. It became part of American Insurance Group (AIG) in 2001.
