Andre is originally from New York, and is second year doctoral student in the Mary Lou Fulton Institute and Graduate School of Education's Educational Technology program. Andre earned his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Oakwood University. Immediately after graduating from Oakwood, Andre began teaching Mathematics and Computer Applications at Oakwood Adventist Academy. While teaching at Oakwood Academy, he completed his Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology from La Sierra Univerisity. He decided to attend Arizona State after being offered a Research Assistantship and a position on the Simlandia research team of Dr. Brian C. Nelson. Simlandia's research focuses on defining best practice and design principles for creating multi-user virtual environments for educational purposes. His personal research focuses on developing learning environments that help to develop automaticity of basic addition and multiplication facts. He is also an adjunct instructor for La Sierra University and an instructional design and evaluation consultant for a technology firm in Chandler. In his spare time he enjoys playing the drums and spending time with his lovely wife Marian.
