3D Laser Scanning

For this project I decided to do a scan of a Hello Kitty model (seen below).

I took two scans of the model. One standing up and one laying down. I then brought the two files into geomagic to line them up together to create one merged object. As seen in the images below, the model had quite a few holes that needed to be patched up, and the mushroom pattern on the original object created indents that I did not want.

After filling the holes and using the sandpaper tool to smooth out the mushroom pattern I ended up with this final Hello Kitty model that I can then print out on a 3d printer.
