| New Player Info Welcome to Arizona State Men's Ultimate. We're glad you're interested in the teams. You probably have a few questions about us, like... What's Arizona State Ultimate? Ultimate Frisbee is a club sport at Arizona State? That means we get some funding from the university, but we are not part of the Varsity sports program. We represent Arizona State at competitions against other schools around the country, in a league organized by the Ultimate Players Association (www.upa.org). Is ultimate coed? Men and women compete in separate divisions at the college level. How competitive are the teams? Arizona State has two different ultimate teams: Men's A and B teams. The A teams are highly competitive; the B teams are more relaxed. Wow. What if I suck? During fall semester, we welcome all Arizona State students to come check out our practices, either to try out for the teams or just for fun. It doesn't matter whether you've never touched a frisbee before, or you just won junior nationals with your high school. We'll start with the basics, teaching throwing, cutting, and basic offense and defense. Each practice will include drills and scrimmaging. Why should I come to practices? You'll learn the sport, get a great workout, and meet some awesome people. Sweet! Where do I sign up? Come out to practice Mondays (at the SRC), Tuesdays, and Wednesdays 9:00 - 10:30 pm on the ASU Band Fields. Bring water, a white and a dark t-shirt, and cleats if you have them. Check out the rest of our website for more information, or email Brad Fritz (bradley.fritz@asu.edu), with any other questions. |
