| As at most universities, ultimate at ASU is a club sport, not a varsity
sport. Club ultimate provides students with healthy physical activity, a
medium of release from academic stresses, networking relationships, lessons
in sportsmanship, exercises in cooperation, intercollegiate competition, and
rugged discipline. Being a club sport, however, the University provides us with minimal funding. As we travel to tournaments throughout the year, expenses mount and become a personal hindrance to many players. The cost can deter many players from participating in one of the greatest sports around. In addition, ASU’s Sports Club Society recently began requiring a fee to play and practice with the team. Unlike in the past when it was free for anyone at any time, we are now required to make all new and old players pay just to practice with the team. Your support will greatly increase participation in ultimate and our chances of tournament success this season. If you would like to make a donation online, you may click on the link below aptly named "Make a Donation". If you choose to donate through a check, please make it out to "ASU Foundation". Write "Ultimate Frisbee Organization" on the memo line of the check, and send it to our faculty advisor, Dr. Michael Kuby (address below). Funds will be deposited with the ASU Foundation, a separate non-profit entity that exists to support Arizona State University. Dr. Kuby will approve all expenditures from the account. You will receive an official receipt from the ASU Foundation for your charitable contribution. Thank you very much for your interest and support. For additional information about the team or about sponsorships and donations, we invite you to contact us directly at the addresses, e-mails, or phone numbers below. Sincerely, | |
