Jaseon Outlaw, PhD. (Aug 2005 - May 2006)
Jaseon completed his Ph.D in Counseling Psychology at Arizona State University, graduating in May 2008. Born in raised in Oakland California, Jaseon had aspirations of becoming a psychology at the age of 18. Currently, Jaseon is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Houston. His plans are to navigate through academia and contribute to the literature on factors of academic success. A former NCAA golfer, Jaseon continues to play golf competitively. He also enjoys international travel and learning to cook new dishes.

Sydella Blatch, PhD. (Jan 2004 - Aug 2005)
Sydella completed her PhD. in Biology at Arizona State University in May 2008, studying nutritional physiology in insects. She was born and raised in Washington DC, also known as Chocolate City! Sydella is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, studying epigenetics, a type of genetic regulation. Sydella plans to become a college professor of biology, doing teaching and research, but her ultimate goal is to become a college administrator. She wants to work towards improving the training, experience, recruitment and retention of black college students, especially of those in the sciences. Outside of work, Sydella enjoys listening to music (some hip hop, some R&B, some jazz, some gospel, and some other stuff), reading, and being around friends and family.
