Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
-
GIS is a system for capturing, storing, and analyzing layered spatial and temporal data. It allows researchers to create interactive queries, analyze spatial info, and edit data and maps.
-
GIS uses multidimensional mapping systems, making possible the tracking of children’s movement (start point, stop point, farthest distance traveled) that can be directly linked to the corresponding 10-second behavioral observation.
- PALs uses GIS to show the location of the children in real-time during all observations.
