Join our taste test event, win a prize!
The Alumni Association is helping a dairy company taste test a new product between 8 a.m. and noon on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The process will only take 10-15 minutes and the Alumni Association will receive a donation as a result of your participation.

Help ASU “blow out” the competition at Dec. 6 Battle of the Bands
The Sun Devil Marching Band will perform their best show of the season in Tucson prior to the ASU-U of A game. Come cheer on the Sun Devil band as they best their Wildcat counterparts in a head-on “show vs. show” competition, then stay to enjoy a joint rehearsal of the two bands!

College of Design alums are invited to submit wall-hung and freestanding works of art to be featured in the 2009 Art By Alumni Wine Tasting and Exhibit, to be held at Su Vino in the Old Town Scottsdale district during February. The application deadline is Dec. 8.

“NewsHour” duo to receive Cronkite kudos Nov. 21
Jim Lehrer and Robert MacNeil, the PBS news anchor tandem who epitomized the best of broadcast journalism, will be this year’s recipients of the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. Cronkite and the ASU school that bears his name – the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication – will honor Lehrer and MacNeil at a Phoenix ceremony on Nov. 21.

University taps Alumni Association chair for vice provost position
Maria Hesse, president and chief executive officer of Chandler-Gilbert Community College, has been appointed ASU’s vice provost for community college partnerships.
Hesse, who currently serves as chair of the ASU Alumni Association’s board of directors, will assume her new post effective July 1, 2009.
