Alumni chapters to boost communities nationwide March 21
Alumni chapters affiliated with the ASU Alumni Association will strengthen communities across the United States on March 21, when they volunteer with local community-improvement events in conjunction with ASU CARES Day.
This will mark the first time the Alumni Association has spearheaded ASU CARES Day.

Need a Sun Devil connection close to home? These geographic chapters will host get-togethers in the next few weeks. Come join the fun!

Run alongside Pat Tillman this April
Want to honor the spirit of the late ASU football star Pat Tilman? ASU alumni are hosting 4.2-mile “shadow runs” in Austin, Chicago, Colorado, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and San Diego in April to coincide with the official runs in Tempe (April 18) and San Jose (April 25).
To participate, register at the Pat’s Run Web site and click on “register as a Shadow Runner.”

Economic forecasts are dismal, yet many Southwesterners in Arizona, Nevada, Texas and New Mexico are optimistic that conditions in the United States will improve over the next year, according to the most recent Arizona State University-Southwest Poll.

A public symposium that will convene some of the greatest minds in science, including six Nobel Laureates, to discuss the origins of everything, from the universe to humanity, will be held Monday, April 6, in ASU Gammage.

Both ASU basketball teams invited to “March Madness”
It’s bracket time in college basketball land, and both ASU’s men’s and women’s teams have been invited to the NCAA Division I tournament! You can track the Sun Devils teams’ progress during the tournaments at the NCAA men’s and women’s sites, and you can get Sun Devil-centric updates via ASU’s Athletics Department Web site.
For information on ticket availability at the tournaments, call the athletics ticket office at 480-727-7000.

Harden named Pac-10 Player of the Year
ASU sophomore guard James Harden has been named the 2008-09 Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Year, becoming the third Sun Devil to win the honor. Harden joins Eddie House (2000) and Ike Diogu (2005).
