Greetings Alumni Constituency Leaders!

The following topics will be addressed:

NOTES FROM THE ASUAA PRESIDENT
Have you all noticed the alumni website and all the things going on?  These are exciting times and something for almost anyone.  Having said that, we are overhauling the website itself to reduce the clutter while still improving the way in which to navigate to the areas of most interest to you. Feel free to give us recommendations for improvement.  In the meantime, I hope you saw the Costco opportunity.  If you ever wanted to be a member or upgrade, now is the time.  You will automatically receive the equivalent amount in coupons for food etc. so a great deal.

On to football, the Georgia chapter’s work with Seth and all his volunteers did a marvelous job.  Photos have been posted here and you can all see the great turnout—Friday evening where approx 300 reconnected and close to 1000 alums and friends at the tailgate.  We also were thrilled to see so many other chapter leaders there.  We have now entered PAC 10 play so root loudly and let’s hope we have huge numbers for Pennies for Points!  See you all at Homecoming!

All the best as always,

Notes FROM THE ASUAA ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS AND CONSTITUENT RELATIONS
It was amazing to connect and see so many of you in Georgia.  A huge thank you to Seth Deitchman, the Georgia Chapter President who served as a great host to many Sun Devils throughout the weekend. It was an experience of a lifetime!

Also, it is thrilling  to see so much activity across the country for the football game-watching parties. We are constantly editing and sending out the e-newsletters and I want you to know that we are continuously striving to improve the effectiveness and timeliness of the messages. Please be sure to look for the new e-communication timeline and procedures in this edition of Chapter Chat.

Homecoming is just around the corner and we are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Fall Leadership Forum. The agenda will cover updates from the University and the Alumni Association as well as time to connect with your fellow alumni leaders. The Legends Luncheon, Block Party, and game against Cal promise to deliver excitement and memories that you will not want to miss.

Go Devils!

NEW E-MAIL COMMUNICATION UPDATE!
We’re so excited to see the burst of game watching activity and other chapter events that are taking place across the country! As a result, we’ve encountered an increase in the amount of e-communications we are sending out and we have recognized the need to make the process run more efficiently. Beginning immediately, ASUAA Programs Staff will strive to have all e-newsletters and blasts formatted and sent within 24 hours of receipt. In order for this to be possible, please provide the following for each and every e-communication request that you send:

  1. Provide a subject line.
  2. Provide content with complete sentences – even for game watching announcements.
  3. Provide any photos, graphics and images as attachments rather than imbedded in the text.
  4. State whether you want to see a ‘proof’ of the e-mail before it is sent to your group (Note: all emails are reviewed by at least two ASUAA staff members before they are sent. If you are fine with the e-mail going out without your review, this can possibly speed up the distribution process. If you do want to review before it is sent, that is perfectly fine too.)
  5. E-mail requests that are received between Monday through Thursday, during business hours, will be sent within 24 hours of receipt. E-mail requests that are received on Fridays will be sent at the earliest opportunity and may not go out before the close of business.

Thank you again for working so hard to provide so many opportunities for ASU alumni and Sun Devil fans to get involved and to engage in fun activities around the country! If you have any questions about these new e-communication procedures, please e-mail trish.thiele-keating@asu.edu.

$$$ REMINDER!

Reimbursement requests for ANY event or program are due within 45 Days of the event. If you have not yet submitted your itemized receipts and Program Report for your Sun Devil Send-Off this past summer, please do so ASAP!

Also remember to take LOTS of photos at ALL of your events and send them in to be posted on your web page and in ASU Magazine.
