What is your favorite part of your current job?
My favorite part of my job is the flexibility to work with an amazing team of innovative, young professionals while inspiring young people to believe in their ability to change the world.

What career path did you follow from your ASU degree to your present job?
I’ve consistently sought out positions in marketing and event planning. Right out of school, I interned with DHL Express in Prague, Czech Republic, for six months then continued to work with DHL in Scottsdale upon my return.

After DHL, I worked as the Director of Events and Programs for the Arizona Technology Council before I came to New Global Citizens, which educates, equips and mobilizes young people to help solve the greatest challenges faced by communities around the world.

Describe one skill learned at ASU that you use daily in your job.
Networking.

Were any ASU-affiliated persons helpful to you in advancing your career?
Yes. I definitely formed a very extensive network of people through ASU and specifically the W. P. Carey School of Business. When I was looking for a job, I reached out to them and they forwarded my resume to many companies around the valley. These professors, advisors and business administration contacts were always helping me throughout my college career and I have them to thank for the scholarship and other award recognition I received during my stay.

What advice would you give to current students or job-seekers about finding work in your field?
Every company needs marketing—whether they know it or not. Make sure you are able to properly communicate the benefits and value in relation to strategic marketing and positioning.
